The qualification has a Total Qualification Time of 190 hours, including 160 Guided Learning Hours.

Does the course cover risk assessment?

Yes. Learners develop an understanding of the purpose of risk assessment and create a risk assessment plan for an unmanned aircraft operation. The Operations Manual unit also covers completing and assessing a risk assessment matrix.

How is the qualification assessed?

The qualification is assessed on a Pass/Fail basis. Candidates must provide valid, authentic and sufficient evidence demonstrating achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Evidence may include assignments, reports, portfolios, video evidence, questioning and candidate test papers.

Assessment criteria specify the standard a candidate must meet to show the learning outcome has been achieved.
To achieve this qualification all candidates must produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the assessment criteria.
