WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Anyone wishing to enhance their Surveillance skills and keep them sharp, anyone wishing to get into the remit of security and investigations The Level 4 Certificate in Covert Surveillance Operations is a qualification designed to develop and provide formal recognition of learners’ knowledge, understanding and competence of surveillance techniques. Surveillance is the monitoring of the behaviour, activities or other changing information, usually of people for the purpose of intelligence gathering as part of an investigation into unlawful or illegal activity, or for enforcement activities. The qualification is aimed at those who wish to gain a recognised qualification, whether they are new to the investigative or enforcement sectors or they have a professional background in a related field and intend to engage in continuing professional development. The skills developed in the qualification will be relevant to the private investigation sector and to individuals with a military background carrying out resettlement training prior to civilian life.

All learners will cover in Mandatory Group A the principles of types surveillance, log keeping, third party awareness, radio communication, managing dynamic changes, planning and debriefing, legal issues, the use of cameras and videos and mobile, foot and static surveillance. In Mandatory Group B learners will continue to cover further aspects of mobile, foot and static surveillance, public transport, health and safety risk assessments and development of leadership skills. Optional Group C includes a range of optional units allowing learners scope to choose those areas most relevant to them, including digital photography, video editing, open-source intelligence and technical surveillance methods

Progression: Learners can progress to employment in the as a surveillance operative. Depending upon the optional units achieved, they may be able to improve their employability in specific areas of surveillance. Learners can also progress to a variety of qualifications including in rural surveillance, private investigation, technical counter surveillance, photography and store detection.

The 7 -day UCP course also gives the learner the minimum requirements to step into the surveillance industry and be confident taking on surveillance contracts and tasks.

COURSE INFORMATION

7 days of intense training for Surveillance covering all aspects from theory to practical in the skills of covert Surveillance operations within the surveillance industry.

Anyone wishing to enter the surveillance and investigation industry, or close protection would seriously need to take this type of training. This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to apply for a job in the private security industry.

Clothing

Dark suit (does not have to be black) black shoes, dark or neutral tie, black socks and crisp white and pastel colour shirt (double cuff preferably) discreet cuff links

Assortment of casual clothing “without” logo’s and writing on your shirts, jeans or Dockers; we don’t like bright colours partly due to the course covering surveillance and counter surveillance, bring some gym clothing as there will be hand to hand combat and fitness training.

Belt, tactical or leather. UCP centre can sell these tactical belts so please don’t worry if you find it hard to obtain.

Footwear

Good walking shoes with tread (we don’t recommend you buy new shoes just before the course due to wearing in (blisters) Weather cautious clothing in case of rain or breeze (think about what will make you comfortable) keep the shoe colour in line with the suit… trainers will be needed (no radical colours).

Equipment

Laptop with Microsoft word and power point, USB memory stick with 10 GB max as you will not get this returned, Camera or phone camera with leads, small and large Notebook (small for day to day log) black pen and pencil with rubber.
