COURSE INFORMATION
A Designated Defence Marksman (DDM) is a member of an armed unit trained in precision shooting at extended ranges, with advanced skills in observation, camouflage, and concealment. A DDM typically operates a precision rifle equipped with optical sights, night vision devices, or other advanced aiming systems that enable accurate engagement of targets over long distances.
The role of the DDM is to identify and engage high-value or time-sensitive targets on the battlefield, such as enemy snipers, liaison officers, heavy weapons operators, and commanders. A Designated Defence Marksman must also contribute to mission planning, maintain effective observation and target tracking, and deliver precise fire to reduce threats at close, medium, and long ranges.
Throughout this course, you will be introduced to every aspect of the Designated Defence Marksman role. You will develop the knowledge, techniques, and practical skills required to accurately engage targets at extended distances while operating safely and effectively in demanding environments.
